The Museum is currently closed for reconstruction.

Temporary closure for reconstruction.

Please accept our heartfelt thanks for your continuing appreciation of and assistance in our museum’s activities.

On May 18, 2015, the Bridgestone Museum of Art, Ishibashi Foundation closed for an extensive period while the building in which it is now housed is rebuilt.

Since opening in January 1952 as Tokyo’s first museum dedicated to displaying Western art, the Bridgestone Museum of Art has been located in the Kyobashi district of Tokyo, offering opportunities to enjoy superb works of art from both East and West. The goal of our rebuilding is to create larger and more comfortable museum spaces for our rebirth as a new museum for a new era.

We look forward to your understanding and support during this extended closure.
